Funding for the Transdisciplinary Drug Abuse Prevention Research Center was provided by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) through the prevention branch of the Division of Epidemiology, Services, and Prevention Research (DESPR). The creation of the Center constitutes a portion of several long-range goals set forth by the National Drug Abuse Prevention Research Initiative.
